こんにちは。行政書士の山口です。今週は入管の制度ニュースではなく、今まさに気をつけていただきたい「命に関わる季節の注意点」を２つお届けします。
①熱中症警戒アラート、14都府県に発表（8月19日）
環境省と気象庁は2026年8月19日（水）、東京都（小笠原諸島）から鹿児島県にかけての14都府県に「熱中症警戒アラート」を発表しました。今年度の熱中症警戒アラート・熱中症特別警戒アラートの運用期間は2026年4月22日から10月21日までとなっており、危険な暑さが続く間は今後も繰り返し発表される見込みです。
熱中症警戒アラートは、その地域の暑さ指数（WBGT）が「危険」な水準に達すると予想される場合に発表されるものです。該当地域にお住まいの方は、以下の点にご注意ください。
- 屋外での運動や長時間の作業を控える
- こまめな水分・塩分補給を行う
- エアコンの使用を控えない
技能実習生・特定技能外国人を雇用している事業者の方は、屋外作業や工場内作業における熱中症対策（休憩・水分補給の徹底）についても、改めてご確認をお願いいたします。
②台風18号（ソウデル）が発達しながら接近中（8月20日15時50分発表）
気象庁の8月20日15時50分発表によると、台風18号はトラック諸島近海を北寄りに進みながら発達を続けており、23日には非常に強い勢力で小笠原近海に達し、24日から25日にかけて日本の南の海上に達する見込みです。
今後の進路によっては、週末にかけて交通機関や航空便に影響が出る可能性があります。一時帰国や親族の来日、在留手続きのための出頭予定がある方は、最新の気象情報をこまめにご確認ください。

Hello everyone, this is Yamaguchi, your gyoseishoshi (immigration lawyer). This week, instead of immigration policy news, I want to share two pieces of information that directly affect your safety.
① Heat Stroke Warning issued for 14 prefectures (August 19)
On August 19, 2026, Japan's Ministry of the Environment and the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) issued a Heat Stroke Warning Alert for 14 prefectures, ranging from Tokyo (Ogasawara Islands) to Kagoshima Prefecture. This year's Heat Stroke Warning / Special Warning Alert operating period runs from April 22 to October 21, 2026, and further alerts are expected as long as the dangerous heat continues.
The alert is issued when the Wet Bulb Globe Temperature (WBGT) heat index in an area is forecast to reach a "dangerous" level. If you are in an affected area, please keep the following in mind.
- Avoid strenuous outdoor activity or long outdoor work
- Drink water and take salt regularly
- Do not hesitate to use air conditioning
Employers of Technical Intern Trainees or Specified Skilled Workers should also review their heat stroke prevention measures for outdoor and factory work, ensuring proper breaks and hydration.
② Typhoon No. 18 (Soudelor) strengthening as it approaches (JMA update, 3:50 PM, August 20)
According to JMA's update issued at 3:50 PM on August 20, Typhoon No. 18 is moving northward near the Chuuk Islands and continuing to strengthen. It is forecast to reach very strong intensity near the Ogasawara Islands around August 23, then reach the sea south of mainland Japan around August 24–25.
Depending on its future path, transportation and flights could be affected over the coming weekend. If you are planning a trip home, welcoming family to Japan, or have an appointment at an immigration bureau, please check the latest weather updates regularly.
